Firstly, you sayang quite a lot. Or so you always said so lar =P (guys don't kill me for this we are just close friends =) )

After knowing her since the foundation days, I must be forgiven for thinking she is a (dot dot dot dot) followed by the alphabet H.

LOL.

But after knowing her for so long, I must NOT be forgiven if I still think she's that word, as she is none at all. In fact, she is a very very very nice friend to have around you. =D

Kiasu-ness aside, she will be there for you when you do not even realize you need help at times, and she will go down all the way to help you when you're really in trouble. May not work you, but certainly, it works for me. =D

Not only that, the sense of awareness of a friend is shown by her. I'm so deeply touched that most of the time, she is ALWAYS one of the people who will know I'm angry or depressed even though I did not tell anyone how I felt. How touching is that? I don't mean to sound bias, but if you are her friend, I'm sure she will do the same to you too. Anyone of you. =D

Not to mention, the countless help and advice she gave me when I need them. Thank you for being such a good friend to me, and I do hope that in the future when we depart into our own ways, do keep in touch with each other. =)

HSBC - World's Entrepreneurs' Bank

Many of you asked me why I did not update on my outing in the HSBC Young Entrepreneurs Award last week, well it's no thanks to the crazy assignments for the last 2 weeks. Nevertheless, since now it's ALL over, here you go. =D

May 13th was a historical day for 3 young entrepreneurs from Taylor's Business School, Mr. Pratiban, Boey and Chow as they forsee an opportunity to go big with their plans. Thus, with the recruitment of 2 additional members, Mr. Cheng and Cheang and the master mind of brilliant ideas Ms Alice, Capital Youths Enterprise was formed.

What was their plan?

It was a takeover of the City Mayor's position, with Ms. Alice as the new mayor with her deputies Mr Cheng and Mr Cheang. Another major plan was to overtake Sime Darby with Mr Chow and Boey becoming the Executive Chairmen in the company in 2010. Team leader Mr. Pratiban will be a bit greedy, with the duty of overseeing BOTH the operations.

I would dare to say, if any enforcers were to see this, chances of getiing in jail is rather high. XD

LOL.

Okay back to reality. Ignore the details above. There really is Capital Youths Enterprise. =D

We were one of the finalists in the event organized by HSBC bank, in which this event had started since 2000 in Hong Kong initially. Given the success of the competition, the scope of the event was enlarged to across 6 Asian regions, which of course includes Malaysia. The winners of the regional competition will stand a chance to compete against each other in the finals in Hong Kong. Second and third-placing winners also stand a chance to win a trip to Hong Kong for one week.

Of course, our aim was ambitious all the time, which was not only the HK trip, but the winners' cheque of RM10,000.

This year's venue was at the Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club, and prior to the day of competition, I can say my fellow members and our mentor had stret out hard work and practices to ensure a smooth presentation, unlike the one we presented in the Taylor's competition last year. So I can say, this time around, we were much and better prepared than last time, giving us more confidence.

We arrived early at the venue to test the equipment as well as getting ourselves ready as we requested to be the first group to present.

Now comes to the moment of truth as we started our presentation, with my hands bit sweaty before I started XD Nervousness was inevitable, but once we got to our rhythm, it was a smooth presentation in the end.

It was such a relief after we presented as we thought that we had set the standards for other teams to follow. It was much much better than how we presented in Taylor's earlier, and the desserts served there seemed a bit sweeter. XD

So other groups presented as well, in which the second group was Team Epsilon.

It was a close fight between the teams, with each team trying their concerted best to perform at this level. Notably Dapez and Team Spirit gave a very strong presentation. So nothing was expected, though my hopes were running high that time.

6-8pm

Came the much-awaited dinner and presentation awards dinner as we were seated with a table of judges from the competition as well as big shots from HSBC and other big firms from various industry. So being the usual us, we were slightly awkward as we hadn't got such attention from anywhere before in terms of the media coverage. Cameras were all over, and the significance of this competition were evident as HSBC is one of the most established banks in the world today.

So finally, the MOMENT came. No words could EVER describe how nervous were we when the winners were announced. Congratulations to Epsilon and Extreme Bros which got 5th and 4th placings respectively. Then we had more hope when we thought that the winner of the Eco-Friendly award, Team Dapez was announced, but then, as the Bronze medal winner was announced...

CAPITAL YOUTHS ENTERPRISE.

Well part of me was happy as I finally fulfilled my dreams of going for an overseas trip for the first time in my life, but part of me was disappointed as we were certain we gave all out during the presentation. At some point, I even thought the effort made by us went nowhere.

Of course, that wasn't the case.

We were deeply touched by the sms-es and prayers and wishes by all of our family, friends and relatives which made us realize that we had achieved more than what we could have asked for. Seriously, I never thought of coming to HSBC at all when we started the business plan in Taylor's, but somehow with God's grace, here we are now. =D

Thus already mentioned earlier, Team Spirit obtained the Silver prize while Dapez, with their vermilizer project obtained the winner's prize of RM10,000 and a chance to compete against other Gold winners from other regions.

So, I would like to take this opportunity to thank those who had made all these possible. Firstly is of course the Almighty Lord, which gave us the ability to come to where we are now.

Secondly, my team mates who had been stressed out just to make sure the idea was presented in an understandable manner as well as attracting the audience. Tonnes of time took to practice as well as trouble and hassle to make the presentation as perfect as possible. What's wonderful was that we did not EVEN argue once, which showed that we were so cooperative throughout the competition period.

Of course, the entire team of Capital Youths, including Y-han, Kah Leong and mentor Ms.Alice, who were with us, giving us encouragements, advice and even laughters when we needed them most. Notably, Ms. Alice who could even forget to eat lunch just to assist us in our plans, has been a VERY dedicated mentor to us and was enthusiastic all the time. Thank you so much all of you =D

Of course, YOU in UK, and all my friends who had constantly given me encouragements and the will to continue striving towards my aim of doing well in HSBC YEA. They had been very supportive mentally (not physically okay =P) as they gave us ideas and opinions on how to present in a better manner. Sms-es before the start of the presentation were the bummer =D

So a great night ended, with all of us being exhausted after such a long day. Again, now the main focus is to go HONG KONG and enjoy AS MUCH AS POSSIBLE! =) =)

All in all, the most important thing that via this competition, I have gained PLENTY of experience in such a big stage, and got a lot of advice in terms of my career in my future. Having a chance to be in such event is truly a privilege. Valuable and incomparable experience learnt from this competition. New friends were made as well, nice to meet all of you.

PLENTYof Updates

Yes, there are PLENTY.

PLENTY of events happened during these crazy few weeks. Of course, let's start off first with this.

I think ALL of you expected this. XD

AFTER BEING CROWNED AS CHAMPIONS OF ENGLAND, MANCHESTER UNITED ARE NOW CROWNED AS CHAMPIONS OF EUROPE FOR THE 3RD TIME IN HISTORY.

You have NO idea how jubilant I was, and AM now after that victory over perennial English rivals Chelsea in the Luszniki Stadium in Moscow.

On a night full of pride and expectations, Manchester United and Chelsea trudged out towards the pitch full of hopeful fans from both bases in the first-ever all English final in the Champions League. Man Utd started as slight favourites after winning the Premier League, but pundits predicted that the physical strength of Chelsea might edge United to the European title.

As unexpectedly, a cagey affair as predicted by pundits did not materialize, as both sides started strongly in the first quarter of the match, with Man United getting into 3rd gear as the minutes went by, pressing Chelsea to their own half. "Sexy" football was what that described United given by pundit Paul Masefield of ESPN, and there were there to be seen as United played brilliant attacking football.

Perhaps the first, and real chance was the making of the goal in the first half, as the ball went out of the byline. A slick 1-2 play between Wes Brown and Paul Scholes was wonderfully done near the byline, and Wes Brown surprisingly crossed into the penalty box with his left foot for star-man Ronaldo, who leaped to flick a fantastic header past Chelsea goalkeeper Petr Cech. No keeper in the world would have saved that, as the header was inch-perfect.

1-0 United. (of course I'm screaming already =P)

United continued their fine attacking display, with Rooney crossing a half-field ball towards the rushing Ronaldo, who crossed in with his left foot to Carlos Tevez. Petr Cech saved brilliantly from Tevez's header, and he again denied Michael Carrick's rebound with a superb reflex-save.

Perhaps that save sparked a revival from Chelsea, who themselves got back the rythym of the play. Michael Essien, who was left with plenty of running space in midfield, shot weakly which fortunately deflected twice off Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand, the Man Utd defenders' shoulders and landed fortunately for Frank Lampard to score from close range. A shaky Van der Sar could have done better in goal, but it was then 1-1 as the first half completed.

The second half was Chelsea's turn to dominate, as Chelsea looked to kill off United with a second goal. It was nearly done as Didier Drogba, the so-called "actor" of football (yes he truly is) hit the post with a wonderful curling shot from outside the penalty box. United survived, and me too. XD

As the second half wore on, United rediscovered their tempo of the match, and attacked during the final quarter of the match, with the introduction of Ryan Giggs and Nani who brought life to United's attack. But that was to no avail, as the match went to extra time. United once again started the extra time brightly as they piled up the pressure. The best change came for United as Rooney chipped delicately towards the path of Patrice Evra who darted towards the penalty box. He skipped past the Chelsea defence brilliantly before crossing to the path of Ryan Giggs. His instant touch on the boal was goal-bound but would not materialize with the timely interception of Chelsea's skipper John Terry off the goal mouth.

United nearly conceded a goal when a neat 1-2 between Drogba and Lampard left Lampard with some space, before Lampard turned and shot at goal instinctively. Fortunately, the ball hit the post once again, and finally, it went to the heart-stopping penalty shootout. At the end of the first time, Drogba spoiled the beauty of the game by slapping Vidic on the face during a fracass, and he was deservingly sent off by the referee. Boo.

By then I was already biting my fingernails. Claryn was so happy at this point. *(#*#@()*&@&#&@*#&@*@

Tevez started the shootout with a brilliant shot towards the low-right corner of the goal. Michael Ballack of Chelsea replied with a thunderous penalty of the right-hand corner as well. Michael Carrick followed up before being equalized by Belletti. And then, the shock of the match came when the scorer of United's first goal, Ronaldo MISSED the penalty as his weak shot was saved by Petr Cech.

HE FREAKING SCUFFED IT.

At this point, I thought it would be Chelsea's luck.

Now 2-3 down in the shootout, Hargreaves scored with a thunderous spotkick towards the high left-hand corner, giving hope to Man United. Ashley Cole responded, and now it was down to United youngster Nani to shine in Europe's biggest stage in football. Duly he did by thumping another high-corner shot past Cech. Then, for all of Chelsea's luck in the match, justice came as John Terry slipped during his spotkick and the ball hit the post, MUCH to the delight of MU supporters (EG ME)

Came the drama of the sudden-death, as Anderson, another wonder kid from MU, scored from the penalty spot followed by Solomon Kalou's shot. Then, came the hero, Ryan Giggs, who today beat Sir Bobby Charlton's record of appearances for Man United, calmly slotted in a penalty to the left hand corner of the posts.Then, another unsung hero, keeper Van der Sar, who had been shaky all night, came up with a match-winning save as he saved from Nicholas Anelka's gracious (Y-han 2008 XD) penalty.

TRIUMPHANT MANCHESTER UNITED IN THE END ON A GLORIOUS EUROPEAN NIGHT.

This sent a strong statement to the world, that after spending years to rebuild his team, Alex Ferguson has finally built a team capable of being the reigning champions of Europe after winning the domestic title for the last years.

Dear Father Lord,

All these while I have complained unnecessarily,
Without realizing there are actually people out there much worse than I am,
who are in need of help more than I do.

Lord,
I would like to offer a prayer for the victims of the earthquake in China,
May their souls will rest in peace,
and Your warm arms protecting their loved ones,
as they grief for the loss of the dead.

Let them know that there is always the Almighty Lord up there,
if they need to search for peace at heart,
and shelter.

Dear God,

I pray that all the survivors will be evacuated to a safer place,
and more rescuers are provided to save even more trapped victims who are still left unfound,
to bring good news to their hopeful and anxious loved ones.

I thank You Lord that today my church is raising funds for the victims,
at least I can do something to help out,
as I can't bear to see the faces of those innocent young kids pleading for help.

Dear God,
may Your strength will be with them all the time,
and more and more countries will join in to give aid to China.

Salute the Worthy Champions

I have waited for a whole year to blog about this, and duly I got my wish. =D

Just yesterday, after a whole long year of non-stop and exhilliarating football, the English Premier League season has finally ended. And

MANCHESTER UNITED PROVED WHY THEY ARE THE BEST FOOTBALL TEAM IN ENGLAND.

After winning the title last year, Sir Alex Ferguson rebuilt his team with further purchases of more young players who in this season, proved their capabilities by performing at their best together with the senior and first team players. Experience, together with a blend of youth and breathtaking brand of attacking football, won United the 10th Premier League in 16 seasons.

Congratulations to Man United for being so consistent throughout the whole season without any real signs of blips in the season. Depth of the squad, and of course, Christiano Ronaldo were the difference.

Breathless

It's not that I see any hot girl and being breathless right now. Not in the mood for that also lol.

Yes I know I have been away for a LONG time thanks to my assignments. FA2 was just submitted, and 168 hours of time were gone. =(

And as if it was not enough, Law and F&I and MA are to come in the next 2 weeks. Here I would like to say thanks to those who have helped me out in my assignments in any ways, and also to those who gave me mental support as well.

But of course, right now, my biggest aim is towards this Tuesday. It's no more laughing matter about this right now, and this is the last step required to see Charlene Choi in Hong Kong. XD

My team needs all the luck we could have and please give us full support on that day.

What Have I Been Doing?

This is a week dedicated to Financial Accounting 2.

Not dedicated, in fact, FORCING myself to FA2.

I hate staying up late for something I dislike, and now I'm just doing just that.

Thankfully my group is at nearing the last stage, which in fact I'm thankful my team members gave their best shot in this die-die-also-don't-want-to-do assignment. I'm not sure if I did but I knew I spent 1 week plus to think and think and squeeze my brain juice to the max.

It was supposed to be a 1 week break, but I end up in college everyday except for Thursday which was a public holiday. =S

SIGH.

But thankfully enough, this week is also a Paul Scholes - inspired week. All the MU fans should know why. XD So at least it made my week a bit.

Man it's really a bomb from Man United's old ginger.
