Sometimes the best place to go doesn't have to be fanciful.

Sometimes it doesn't need to be so classy also.

Or any extraordinary landscapes to capture your attention as well.

At times even the MOST odd places can guarantee you satisfaction which even foreigners can't find it in their own land.

What the hell is it?!?! (By now I know you are sick of guessing already I know lol.)

Place of all the things not found legally elsewhere.

Hell no haha. You see, one fine and PERFECT example will show you.

"How much is this VCD/DVD ah?"

You try asking that elsewhere during the normal hours of the day, and see what reply will the authorities give you. Lol.

Of course, that's the first reason of why it is the best place to go especially on a weekend and you have nowhere to go.

Just head to the "pasar malam" nearby your housing area. It is almost everywhere. =)

Place of piracy

Let's be human and don't tell me that you will support ORIGINAL everytime, no matter how rich you are. If there are always a cheaper option which also gives you almost equal in terms of quality, why not? Of course, I'm not the type who buys excessively as I still prefer going out to cinema to enjoy the maximum sound effect especially for those fantastic movies with my friends, so sometimes pirated DVDs will be my choice. XD

Cheap food

Why waste your time waiting for your hunger to go away when you can just can so many CHEAP food EVERYWHERE? You can virtually eat throughout the night, literally with the many choices of food around you. YOU WILL BE SO SPOILT OF CHOICES! =D

It's Been A While

Yes guess it's been pretty long since I last updated my blog. Sometimes it's pretty hard to upkeep a blog, but still no matter what blogging is a good pastime for me. =)

So firstly over the whole week of absense, is Man Utd's win against perennial rivals Liverpool. The details of the match I'm sure MU fans would love to see again but not for Liverpool fans, so I shall be kind. XD

Next is KIMBAB!

Not that I like the food Kimbab, but I shall be participating a "family race" in the Adventurace organized by Sky Adventure Club. After an enjoyable outing in the Adventurun organized the same club last year, I have full confidence that it should be a well-organized event and loads of fun guaranteed.

But if anything about eating insects, God please help me okay. Lol.

The reason of the "KIMBABNESS" is that our group name is "The Kims" with my two "daughters" Vivian and Sara (two very sweet girls =D) joining as well. That's the reason why it was a "family race" and the origins of Kims, well basically both Vivian and Sara are absolutely crazy for Korean stars with the surname "Kim", so as to accomodate myself,

TAMAN NEGARA NEXT!

Next thing is the submission of Law assignment and F&I test. Bahhhhhh why the heck should I care about them. No details required as I'm sure your feelings will be as the same as mine.

Then I had a Monopoly game in college today. Yes I know you may say I have nothing to do college. XD

Hey it's not wrong to relive those fun days once in a while okay. Monopoly is a good practice of HOUSE investment, right Pretib? XD

Tonnes of laughter and awkward moments. Then as usual, my favourite game of futsal later in the afternoon. Of course, every futsal game is enjoyable to me. =)

Fine Boey you also scored, happy? Hahahahahahaha.

All in all quite a good week though there are some lows as well. But nah our lives ain't that smooth everytime right? The most important thing is we appreciate what God has given to us everytime. =D

A Tribute to A Master

It isn't Didier Drogba, Chelsea's main man.

It could be Fernando Torres, but he certainly does not have the variety in him as compared to the master.

The master.

Yes, it is none other than Christiano Ronaldo. Not only he is the starlet of Man United, but also currently one the best players in the world right now.


With Man United well in position to take the EPL this season again, the mouth-watering attacking play certainly involved Ronaldo the most in terms of not only scoring goals, but delivering them when they needed him the most.

33 goals in a yet-to-be-completed season for a winger man. Not many strikers could even manage that amount. let alone a winger.

Blessed with tremendous amount of skill on the ball with quick feet, he is possibly one of the players defenders would not like to play against. With speed and fitness by his side, he certainly can bamboozle any solid defence allowing the team to score.

Perhaps his success is down to his effort in training as reflected by the many goalmouth-scorching freekicks that he scored in this season. Though he doesn't usually score through freekicks, but when he does, it is a touch of class (Alan Parry 2008 Commentary, Man United vs Bolton)

With him being only 23 years of age, he certainly has everything to become the best player of this generation.

Defeat Makes Us Stronger

Especially when the defeat was marred by uncertainties and poor decisions, and of course, the lacking of that tiny slice of luck needed.

But we are all gentlemen in accepting defeat, right Longkang FC? =)

About the origins of the name, please ask Y-han okay. XD

Yesterday was my unprecedented time in participating myself in a futsal tournament which was organized by the SAM students in Taylors College in the mini-version of Sports Planets in SS13 at around 4pm.

Only FOUR miserable courts to accomodate 24 teams. =S

So all the teams moved in swiftly into registering themselves in which of course, they practiced the "usual" habit of Malaysians,

LATENESS.

Of course, Y-han, who was so ultra-confident the day before with his comments, was a bit stressed by the time he saw all the opponents.

The comments the day before : "Bro, can lah bro...champions lah BRO!!" XD

HAHHAHA. I respect him for being positive all time. =D

Time to get into action. Thank God I somehow recovered from a mini-diarrhoea from the night before, though I was still moving a bit gingerly in the first match. With the goalkeeping gloves now firmly gripped with my fingers, everyone was ready.

Group Phase
Game One

Things were pretty tight at first, but thankfully the first match was pretty smooth-sailing, with Calvin scoring the match-winner in the 10-minute match. The defence was well-organized, with minimal mistakes though I have to ditch out a mishit-cum-disguise shot by the opposite striker towards the end of the game.

Game Two

The first true test of mettle of our team. Just minutes ago, the team we now play against just wacked the organizers' team, also in our group with a convincing score. Somehow we allowed them to attack and scored an early goal in the first half, and worse, it was perhaps only their most meaningful attack in the game. A deflected clearance allowed them to pounce, with the second shot going in after saving the first attempt. Lack of finishing did not help our dominance, and we lost a close game 1-0.

Game Three

With the team which defeated us already winning two games, we must at least win or draw and hope the other match would end in a draw. Thankfully it did, and now it was up to us to finish the business, and we did - in style. (NOTE : WE WACKED THE ORGANIZERS TEAM YAY! =P =P) Some quick passing coupled by the opposition defence's mistakes enabled Calvin, Foo to score, and of course Pretib, who stole Foo's thunder by scoring with Foo just next to him that time. XD Already done and dusted, and though 2 late goals were conceded, we did more than required. But again, my FATHER'S DAY was at stake again. =S

Knockout Stage

The match fueled with unfairness, controversy, roughness and of course, a test of mental toughness. Perhaps one of the better teams in the tournaments with nearly the whole team of African students, we knew we had to defend resolutely to get a chance. In fact, we did more than that in the first half, with Pretib and Y-han on top of their game and with me safeguarding the posts in the first half. Then, our goal came when Y-han attempted to pass from the by-line aka through kick-in which went in through the keeper's hands. After scoring, the opposition argued that he scored from the kick-in as the rules restricted so.

So stupid, it's the keeper's own blardee mistake, and you guys still want to argue? How pathetic.

This was not enough yet.

Perhaps being frustrated after I denied them quite a number of shots, they tried shooting from far again, and as I pushed the ball towards the air, one of two players held me off hard, with the other HITTING THE BALL INTO THE NET WITH THE HANDS.

HITTING THE BALL INTO THE NET WITH THE HANDS. EVEN LI SAN WHO DOESN'T KNOW MUCH ABOUT FOOTBALL ALSO KNOWS IT'S ILLEGAL. What bizarred me was that the referee did not do anything about it though the goal was disallowed.

Luck was again against us as Calvin intercepted a pass into the goal just before the end of the first half.

Second half commenced with nearly most of us being pissed at their playing style. Still we maintain our cool although they scored a quick goal with a fierce low shot. Again lack of finishing wasn't there even though there were plenty of clear-cut chances, and with their keeper on form as well, we bowed out in the end.

Of course, gamesmanship was the most important in the end, and we accepted the defeat with grace as we knew, we lacked that bit slice of luck. At least we wacked the organizers, some consolation right? XD

This was one footballing experience to remember, and if we were to play again next time, we know what to do. =D

Lifeless

I rarely complain bout my studies, but when I do, I guess it's time for me to self-reflect on how hard this semester I'm currently in is going to be.

All these while, it has been pretty smooth-sailing thus far for the last few of years in college, and in fact results are more than what could I have hoped for. But for this semester, everything is not really there for the taking anymore.

No more skipping of lectures and getting away with it in the end, no more boring and useless lectures (of course lectures are ALWAYS boring but this semester they are 200% IMPORTANT), certainly no misses of any tutorial classes UNLESS there are urgent purposes, more efforts required in much much harder assignments, and of course most importantly

FUN no more.

To be honest, I have always dreamed of achieving a Book Prize in college, and after improving each semesters I always think I could have a chance, but right now, it's dashed to the maximum. Maybe things are not meant to be mine.

And certainly in this semester, no chance at all.

The Tsunami (Malaysian Electorate) Has Spoken

The rainy night on March 9, 2008 will be a day to remember for Malaysians, especially to the shell-shocked Malaysian dominants for the past century, Barisan Nasional.

Guess every single one of us may have known of such political "tsunami", as described in the papers today, but before I go further on that, let me go into the voting process first. =D

So it was election day yesterday, and since I was relatively free, I accompanied my mom to her voting venue in Kepong Baru to cast her vote for the candidates in the Kepong seat. This is widely regarded as one of the "hot-seats" being contested as both DAP and Barisan aimed to pull Chinese votes as much as possible. In the end....

Okay we reached the voting venue, which was the Sri Bintang Secondary School at around 1.30 pm and boy it was so quiet. Guess most of the voters had voted.

After registering herself, we moved up to the designated classroom to cast her vote, with tight scrutiny from the EC officers as well as policemen.

The very very VERY important batton box, containing the voice of the people.

Then the anticipated announcement of polling results came.

Before election, Barisan Nasional leaders thought that they could at least maintain the supremacy over the Opposition leaders in both the Parliament and the State seats.

Boy it turned out to be their one of the worst nightmares ever in Election history.

The first, and possibly, the biggest casualty from BN contesting in Lembah Pantai, Datuk Seri Shahrizat losing to NEWCOMER Nurul Izzah Anwar from PKR.

Can you imagine, a newcomer can actually win someone who is considered as one of the top politicians in the country? That's seriously extraordinary.

If Datuk Seri Samy Vellu's loss after that in Ipoh was still not enough, more were to come on this shocking night.

Penang, regarded as one of the states being reigned supreme by BN since 1969, was completely wiped out by the overtakings of the Rockets with a two-thirds majority. Chinese-dominated areas are also almost swept away, with Perak and Kedah also taken over by the Opposition. The overtaking of one of the major states in Malaysia, Selangor completed the rout by the Opposition.

A cruel wake-up call for Mr. Abdullah and his leaders on a cold, Sunday morning.

The supposingly excitement inside me has now transformed into disappointment. I am initially bound to help out in the registration for the election in my area tomorrow, but just before futsal in college today, the disappointment arrived.

"Ronnie ah, you can't help us out tomorrow cuz YOU ARE NOT 21 YET. Sorry!"

I don't get it. I gave her my I.C. 2 days ago, and why on earth did u tell me SO LATE? She (my friend's mother) should have told me about this when I gave her my I.C or something. Or at least yesterday right?

RM65 GONE.

Guess I anticipated too much. Then needless to say, somehow my futsal mood was already half gone, and then after that, I had one of the "noob-est" futsal in my life. Swt.

I'm so jealous of my dad preparing himself with the Barisan Nasional shirt for tomorrow as he will be fetching the voters from my area to the designated voting venue.

DAMN JEALOUS!!!!!!!!! =P

Well, maybe it's fated, I just have to accept a missed opportunity.

I may have brought hope to DAP aka Rocket leaders, but sorry, you won't get my vote as I'm only still 20 years old. XD

So as we all Malaysians are well aware enough (except for Suet Yen who's still quite blur about Election Day =P), the whole nation is witnessing the battle between Abdullah's army and the opposition parties in winning over the hearts of Malaysians.

I will win!

The Space Army. Rocket and moon. Get the picture huh lol.

By now everywhere will be full of their own flags or amblems, and with the posters of candidates posing with their most serious expressions ever, it means more cleaning up to do after the conclusion of the elections.

Barisan here, there and everywhere. HELP!

Carrefour indirectly became the salesperson for Barisan.

And of course, this INFAMOUS indecisive kitty from Kenny Sia's blog. Lol.

Certainly this "indecisive kitty" tells us a lot about Malaysian citizens nowadays. Many of us, including myself shamefully, are not fully aware of the whole process of the election and in fact, pretty oblivious about this nation-concerning matter.

How many of us would know what's the latest news of election in this political-driven country? How many of us know who are the potential candidates? Who are your area's candidates and what are the criterias to vote? Should you register yourself as a voter?

One of our former Deputy Prime Minister quoted in the Star last week:

"Voting is a nation's responsibility and certainly, a privilege to us born as Malaysians"

How true indeed. I admit I rather not get myself dragged into the no-one-will-know-what's-going-to-happen political matters, but I do know one thing that each vote, something similiar to the one up there, signifies the future of the country's development as is these tiny papers will determine who are the next leaders of the country. Will it still be the same leaders after given 5 years in the office, or will it be time for the citizens to have a change instead?

So Malaysians, If you are registered but still yet to vote, please spend some time to vote this coming Saturday in your respective areas, as your votes will mean a lot to yourselves in the end.

I'm quite proud to share that I will be helping out in registering the voters via checking the voters' identity sort of thing, in the voting venue of Taman Bukit Maluri, which is inside the Maluri Secondary School.

To think that I will get paid for RM65 for that day itself just by doing these simple stuffs. It's nearly more than double my pay as a trainee in an auditing firm with much much MUCH more work to do.

The Start of Competency

After a certain hiccup for the past few days, the blogger is back kicking. XD

Okay just kidding.

After 2 long years of putting the miserable and noob-like "P" sticker on the windscreen of my car, I can FINALLY choose WHEN to take it down and throw it away. Unless I still want to be modest in showing that I'm still noob in driving. Lol. Sorry Aaron I know you saw this post coming. HA HA HA.

Seriously, "P" drivers are often the target of road bullies as like I said, they treat new drivers like a child driving a toy car. They hone you out of nothing, refuse to be tolerant near junctions, and driving past you with that kind of jerky and king-of-the-road type of face when they speed.

It is to no surprise that Malaysia has one of the worst accident rates in the world until today. It all started from ourselves.

Anyhow, thus far I have not gotten myself into any forms of major accidents thankfully, and so after the end of this month, I shall be officially declared as a competent driver. =D

With the noob license, and horrible picture of mine. No wonder I was not smiling lol.

With the "bit more pro" license. Look how cheerful I was in the picture. And NO MORE P! =D

But no harm in being happy for something new in life right? =)
