The Path to The Truth

I just had a discussion in my cell group about Luke 14:15-24 regarding on the parable of the great feast, and I felt so compelled to share about this! Haha.

This parable really catches my attention because this chapter in the Bible talks about how people, not only Christians reject God even though all of us are given tonnes and tonnes of opportunities to recognize him as our one and only Lord. Not to mention, some of us who despite already believe in the existence of God, still refuse to serve God although he or she has countless opportunities to do so.

The most eye-catching section of this parable is the fact that it relates to how Christians live. Most of us fall into 2 categories, one is being from a non-believer to believer, and the other one is growing up in a Christian family. Few of my friends who grew up in Christian families shared that at times, they tend to be carried away at times as they already were inducted to the Christianity teachings since they were born, thus not experiencing the so-called "feast" as described in the parable. In contrast, Christians like me who did not grow up in a Christian family, may have felt more of the "feast" as given by the Lord, as they fully experience the blessings accepted which change them.

Certainly, I can say I was fortunate to acknowledge about the righteousness of the Lord during the hardest times of my life. God truly has His arrangements for all of us, let alone allowing ALL of us to believe that, He rightfully is the only God we turn to everytime. But, having said that, I myself had rejected opportunities to serve Him at times, when I DID have the opportunities. That is why I vow to serve Him whenever possible.

And I hope my dear friends, all of you would to.

According to this parable, God "invited" every single one in this world to His kingdom, no matter from what backgrounds we originate from. Unfortunately, selfishness, ignorance and doubtfulness kick in, which acts like a barrier between God and us. Not to criticize free-thinkers, but how would we live without the blessings of God?

Time is running out, and as a child of God myself, I really hope I can spread good words of Him to anyone I know, as everyone of us deserves a chance to know the Lord better. =)

Reliving the DREAM

In response to Claryn's 'shivering' post, I present to you the reason why I spent two days watching MU playing against Malaysia even for just a training session, the countless nights I spent watching them play over the weekends, and why I just LOVE them. =P

THIS, ladies and gentlemen, is the dream every footballing team wants to achieve, and only THIS team from England managed to do so over the many years since football was played in England.

To be honest, before this I haven't really seen the treble being achieved with my own eyes as I still hadn't liked football back then. But after watching this, I feel this sequence of videos, showing EVERY SINGLE GOAL SCORED in the ENTIRE season, gives others even more SHIVERS =P The goals were totally exquisite, and done in the total United way, plenty, PLENTY of LAST-DITCHED goals.

False alarm were sent, as United had to battle a tough start to a campaign especially after suffering the hangover from the 1998 World Cup. But as the season went on, they grew stronger and stronger, and soon the promised land was theirs...

Why do I always tend to blog when exam draws near lol. When I'm free, I will never blog for months. Sigh. Badly need to revive this blog after my exam.

The Legacy of A Pig (Swine)

Yo fellas, I'm back once more haha.

I know I know, this blog looks forgotten already lol. Sorry lar. All the time I wasn't inspired to put my thoughts into words, but when I have the inspiration, I was already lying on the bed. -_-

That goes to say how much I dream during the night. =P

Hmmmmmm let me see, the last update was April 4th, and that was very long ago sigh. 4 weeks of hours and seconds passed by once more,

at a SPEEDY rate. =S

And not to mention, the so-called SWINE FLU is spreading at a speedy and alarming rate too.

Don't blame my lack of knowledge, because initially I found the name of the disease chun-ted, and I guess it must be a name of some virus, which in the end it was found out that

IT WAS THE NAME OF A PIG. -_-

Okay jokes aside. From what I know, this so-called swine flu's effect on humans is no joke at all. Up until today, a total of 94 deaths have been caused by this influenza in Mexico alone, while other countries have been affected too.

Previously, there was SARS, and then bird flu followed. Now, the pigs decided not to be left out by carrying a virus which combines with virus from the bird flu. Vengeance for eating excessive pork meat maybe? Lol.

It can be true. If you realize, this so-called group of swines in the past had attributed quite a number of deadly viruses which took the world by storm. For whatever reason I do not know, and these poor animals not only face death themselves for the satisfaction of hunger by human beings, but also being the scapegoat for the death of humans.

Whoa am I being compassionate or what XD

Okay what I really meant was the force of nature shows its true colours once more. We tend to take God's gifts, or His creations for granted with no sense of appreciation or whatsoever. As the Bible says, God will return to this world one day, and only those who prepare themselves for the return of God shall be saved. Such influenza scenarios are almost identical to the events described in the Bible as well, as the world shows increasing signs of destruction.

Whether you like it or not, the pigs, which are regarded as the lowest-ranked ones among all beasts, have given us an opportunity to realize how oblivious we are. Period.


Dear Father,

I would like to pray for the victims of the flu and also their family members, who have to go through a difficult period.

Pray Lord that You will give them strength to face such adversity, knowing that You will be with them all the time.

And hope that such phenomenon will serve all of us sinners a reminder that how powerful You can be Almight Lord.

Amen.

The Irony

To know someone from the outside is very easy, but to know someone from the bottom of his or her heart, it takes forever.

Some you know will be kind to you for 10 over years and bite you back in just that 10 minutes.

Some may look oblivious, but actually they do care a lot.

Some people may be smiling at you 24/7 but deep inside him or her, he or she might be suffering.

These are alright, as we are human beings. We are sinners, that's why we need God. And that is also why everyone of us makes mistakes. That is also why you can't say, you live this life alone.

The world DOESN'T evolve around you. It takes love, care and passion to make the world go round.

Some people just blame you non-stop, blame you for everything.

To be blamed for the wrong things is totally right, but why blame people when he or she did not have the intention do it?

To be blamed for one thing is okay, but to be blamed for EVERYTHING, it is very sickening. Hurtful.

What will the person being blamed think? What about the times when you yourself had angered people but you were forgiven?

And,

if I can appreciate what you did for me, why can't you appreciate what I did for you?

I would understand you, but if you wish to make me think like the way you do, sorry. I have my integrity as well.

Glory Glory

Today is the last day of my longggggggggggggg break after 3 months.

3 MONTHS okay. Can imagine, the many days and hours and minutes and seconds within the 3 months

GONE! OVER!

Well it has been some holiday though, with the most happenings I guess. I'm still feeling a bit lazy, but nevertheless, I'm happy to start as I have lots to prove in this semester. =)

ANYWAY,

Carling Cup Champions 2008

You should see this coming haha. After winning yesterday's Carling Cup, MU will still be in the hunt for the unique quintiple of trophies in a single season. Quintiple means.....five? Lol. Anyhow CONGRATULATIONS MAN UNITED! =D

So the day belongs to our hero Ben Foster, who saved well in the penalty shootout to give MU the victory. Bravo!

Though the least in terms of priorities, Alex Ferguson's intention of winning all the trophies is even more evident after yesterday.

KLIA My Temporary Home

For the last week, it was all about farewells. And since I went there twice last week, I can consider the airport as my temporary home. -_- Lol.

It also seemed like last week was a perfect week for STUDENTS to fly, because the airport was rather packed with students flying off to overseas. Not to mention, the kangaroos have become sexier, or smarter I guess, as 95% of them were flying to Australia. =S

"Come be like me babeh!"

Girls like smart people, so there you go, a smart kangaroo. XD

As I was saying, I met lots of fellow students and friends in the airport, and there goes the conversations as below:

"Eh! You're leaving also too. Where are you flying to?" (as I saw quite a number of others I knew in the airport as well)

"MELBOURNE."

"Your friends are leaving also?"

"Yea, ADELAIDE."

Questions remained the same, with only the locations changing. Lol.

So these were few of those friends whom I sent off over the past week. Have a great time with the kangaroos hahaha. Will miss all of you.

Don't get too carried away with the hot chicks there HAHAHAHA =P

Awesome Start to 2009

I know I have been saying this for sooooooooooo many times, but yes I'm BACK again! XD Haha.

I know I would not have any excuses this time, but I always procrastinated especially when it comes to blogging. =( Without realizing, I actually procrastinated for a month =S

For those who wonder what am I up to, all I can say is the last month or so has been pretty awesome.

Especially tonight, when the Almighty Lord has made me realize He uses ALL of us in every way He possibly could. He is truly wonderful =) Without Him, I don't think I would be able to have so much fun and experience working in HSBC. Without Him, I would not know that patience is the best policy when it comes to adversities. Without Him, I would not be where I am here right now.

Mentioning about HSBC, just recently I finally finished my internship in the bank. I promise in the next post I'll share my experience, but right now all I can say is working in the bank itself offers you great future and prospect =) The people there are one of the nicest, kindest and certainly most generous! XD

I MISS YOU PEOPLE! =(

And God has made me an even more patient man this time around. Failures, like the one happening to me last time, could have easily made me lose faith towards the Lord. Thankfully, He was there for me during this difficult period, guiding me and making me realize that there are tonnes of other people who just manage to get a life. And I would like to offer a very simple testimonial for my own:

God will greatly reward those who never fail to put faith in Him despite adversities =D

I just can't wait to start the next semester. But having said that, I believe TBS will be a bit quieter when the semester starts. Why?

Almost half the intake will fly to Adelaide next week. NEXT WEEK. =( =(

2008 In A Flash

Yours truly is back, in a much much better state of mind.

Sorry peeps for making all of you worried, especially those who knew what happened to me. Thanks a lot for the concerns. I promise no much such thing in 2009 =)

First of all, Happy New Year 2009 to all of you once again. I know it is already the 3rd day of 2009, but this is the time when we reflect on ourselves over the high and lows throughout the year as the new year approaches. As a chinese saying always quotes, "there's no new when there's no old", thus this is when we continue to improve on the good things we achieved, and simultaneously learn from past mistakes. So in my opinion, instead of making tonnes of resolutions which are meant-to-be-broken, for example

"I want to go down by 5 kgs" and you end up eating four meals a day.

"I must save more money" which of course, you spend more instead.

the realistic thing to do is to look back at your past and improve on what you are good at, and not repeat the mistakes made previously. For me, 2008 had been a very meaningful year to me.

1) Business Plan @ HSBC YEA Award

Capital Youths

This, will remain long in my memory for a long time as I had so many good memories in this event, organized by none other than the HSBC Bank which focuses on nurturing students in preparing a proper business plan to be viewed by judges from big firms, locally and internationally. The whole journey which was a year ago in November 2007, started from a simple statement made by Pretib and Boey,

" Eh bro want to join a? The prizes damn ON weh!"

Without a single sense of seriousness in the statement, I tagged along as I also thought that I would just be toying around. Little did we know, it went a long way. Firstly we won the second prize in the college competition, which later spurred us on the join the lucrative YEA Award. Although we just managed a Bronze Award in the end, it was enough to send our team to Hong Kong with flight and accommodation fully paid for A WEEK!

Cathay Pacific Airways and Marco Polo Hong Kong Hotel FREE FOR A WEEK. NO JOKES OKAY!

But what really did embed in my mind was the fact that I learnt so much especially on the ways to set up a business, sharpening up of our presentation skills as well as useful advice from the CEOs of big companies. Most importantly, I learnt that success doesn't come along without effort, and teamwork. Working together with them in a team was really memorable, as we knew how to relax and chill despite last minute work XD Not forgetting Ms Alice, our mentor, who was the backbone of the success.

2) Hong Kong Trip

That led us to the trip which was soooooooooooooooooooooooo anticipated especially for the "katak bawah tempurung" like me LOL. It amazed me that despite the size of the country (or an island), I can actually feel that Hong Kong's development is way ahead of Malaysia in many ways. The infrastructures there are enough to make Malaysia's Twin Towers ashamed, and I only have ONE word for their public transport system.

Efficient.

Notably the commuter system, the extent of efficiency is so good that 70% of Hongkies walk on foot literally to train stations to take the train as it connects everywhere. Signboards are well-placed in the stations, which was so convenient even for a first-timers like me.

In Malaysia, the officers might not be able to help you also lol.

Besides the trip, the main purpose of the trip was to witness the regional finals competed by the Gold Award winners from 6 other countries as they seek to impress the much-bigger shots, including the CEO of HSBC Group Sandy Flockhart as the judge. Impressive huh?

In the end, surprisingly Thailand was the overall winners with performance so splendid which blew the crowd away.

Also during the trip I got to visit Disneyland, Ocean Park, Victoria Peak and of course, the famous Mong Kok Street aka Ladies Street. And even more remarkably, was the time in hanging out with my other mates in Hong Kong. I must also mention Boey, my hotel roommate who took good care of me as if I'm his girlfriend. Okay enough said.

XD XD HAHAHAHA. And also not to mention the FREEDOM we have there in going to pubs and clubbing late at night without parental supervision LOL. =P Don't worry, I know my limits =)

3) Adventurace

Another memorable event which tested the ability of the competitors to be resillient besides standing up to be counted during crucial times. But that wasn't in our minds at all as Vi-vian, Sara and I joined this race, which adopted the concept of Amazing Race of reaching the finishing line as the fastest as tasks are completed along the way via going around Malacca before returning to KL in one day.

What struck my mind so clearly was the ability to remain calm, cool and collected even though we made mistakes during the tasks. We NEVER scolded nor argued, and we took good care of each other. I must compliment Vi-vian and Sara as to me they were the best partners under such circumstances, and they were the perfect balance to the occasionally-impatient attitude of mine. =D And thanks to them we could finish the crucial task of anyaman (not sure in English) in which we could move on to finish 7th in the race.

Not too bad for fat people like me huh? =P

4) Daniel & Fern's Wedding

The blessed couple =)

You may think I'm weird, but it's certainly a pleasant feeling to see your friends getting married, more so if the couple has been dating with each other for a long period of time. This happens to this newly-wed couple, and though I didn't know how long they knew each other, they have been together for years. Furthermore, they are my fellow church friends which pleased me even more to see them tying the knot finally. Thus it was an honour for my cell group to perform for this couple.

I hope that our singing wasn't too bad HAHAHAHAHA XD

May God bless you both. Go prove that everlasting love still exists =)

5) Internship @ HSBC

Words could not describe how I felt when I received the reply from one of the most established foreign banks in Malaysia offering me an opportunity to undergo an internship. A post on my internship experience will be up later on. =)

6) The Unimaginable Year End

Like I said, every year has its highs and lows. This certainly was the low of my year, as it occured during the festive period. No doubt it was the worst year end of my life so far. The feeling of having everything uncertain suddenly wasn't a good feeling at all, and I began to lose touch with God.

Despite that, I took time to realize that God's fair, and He may have wanted me to learn a harsh lesson. It's not point dwelling over spilt milk, and truly indeed I must accept that this was my time to falter. Most importantly, I had seen God's strength once more in building myself up through this difficult period, and I knew the only way to help myself is to return to God's arms in being a better person.

Thus that was my year. It was much more exciting, but I surely would run out of space writing all of them. In a nutshell it was a wonderful year for me, and I'll make sure I come into the new year with renewed confidence to finish off the last year of my studies. Happy 2009 everyone and may you enjoy another fruitful year ahead . =)
