10 km COVERED!

Waking up at 5.45 a.m on a Sunday morning sounds mad, but it was worth the madness. =) So then Lik Yung missed call me to see where was I as early as 6 a.m. . He, as well as Pretib and Kah Leong, were also enthusiastic for the upcoming run organized by Sky Adventure Club. I only participated a run once before this, so I was looking forward to it.

Reached college at 6.20 am then we embarked towards Shah Alam where the run was in Kah Leong's car. Along the way, we got lost lol. Thankfully we managed to find a way out, and we reached the Taman Pertanian Malaysia (sounds weird to run in a plantation area, but the place was awesome!) exactly at 7.00 am, and we were a bit late for the run. Darn my position would be better if we started earlier. =P

My number of the day. =)

Looks so tensed lol.

So the race started, and I made a good start as I darted past some contestants from my category, C and A category. Some were way too far as they are qualified runners, so I just went on.

Along the way, it was a walk-run, and running up the hill was NOT easy I tell you. But the surrounding was cooling, thanks to the fresh air circulating around. the rainforest. I was already way in front of Lik Yung and Kah Leong as I lost them, so did Pretib who lost us as well at the front. Thankfully there were lots of downhill tracks, so I could take advantage from. =D

As I run, I noticed the B and D categories, with elder participants, darted in front of me while I was taking my breaths as I walked and man THEY ARE SUPER FIT! Gosh. They spurred me on somehow, and with me seeing Lalang (one of my friends from Sky Adventure) at the drink booth, I continued running after words of encourage from her. And I was relieved that the checkpoint was in sight. Somehow after the checkpoint, I began to not feel that tired. Got motivated I think, haha. But again, a lot of participants from D category ran past me once again. Swt. And then I overtook some female participants, and hey, I cant let them win me if possible okay =P

Then I saw Timothy, another friend from Sky Adventure, and then he told me something stimulative:

"THE CHECKPOINT IS JUST LESS THAN 1 KM."

MAN I'M SO RELIEVED!

But surprisingly enough, the distance I covered did not feel like 10 km, but doesn't matter. I was already panting non-stop once I went and took a rest with Pretib, who finished the race earlier than me by 15 minutes. That time was only 8.20 am. Reasonable. =D

Here are some pictures of the event:

Thus it's the end of the race. Overall it was a GREAT event. The track was awesome, and everything was under control. And did I mention, I finished one of the top 15 in my category. =D Not bad for a size like me okay.
My gratitude to Sky Adventure and Boey for such a wonderful event. I look forward for the next run. Work hard!
