I Hate the In-Betweens

It was the weekends once again, and with church activities, EPL matches over the tube as well as chilling out are what makes me crave for weekends to arrive.
But there is ONE thing that I dislike, which is sitting in the same table, and rather in between two sides who refuse to talk to each other. Makes me feel like an idiot, especially when the occasion was to enjoy a dinner feast, for FREE!

It was yesterday when my eldest uncle in the Chow family (he always proclaims that lol) invited us for dinner together with another relative and a close friend's family for a dinner in a restaurant near Taman Paramount. It struck my mind that Taman Paramount is the living area which the legendary Clowns stay in, so a meeting for "yum cha" was in my mind.

Who are the clowns? You know yourselves yea =P
Anyhow, it was time for dinner when we gathered at my uncle's place first, with my dad not expecting my aunt, who both used to quarreled, for some apparent reason which I don't really want to know, and care. So after settling ourselves down in the restaurant, my eldest uncle gave his "elderly" speech:

"2 reasons of why I have this dinner. Firstly is the birth of my 2nd grandson, and 2nd reason, is that I hope you both (my dad and my aunt) put aside your disagreements, and have a good dinner together."

Congratulations to the first statement, but not-so-hooray for the second one.
My dad was okay with it, but for my aunt, she still shows that kind of face, you know, starting with the "b" word.

Pity my uncle who wasted her litres of saliva trying to put things right, which in fact, I respect for doing that, but somehow, turned out to be nothing in the end. And for me, I will be stuck in between as both of them sit directly opposite of each other.

As you can see, I took this picture from the south, with my dad and aunt sitting at the west and east of the picture, both hidden I can't be too obvious in taking this picture lol.

Yes, the very disgusted me.

But fine, that aside, the food was awesome, and thankfully it was rather a smooth dinner in the end, with everyone joking, except for my aunt not talking to my dad, vice-versa.

Eating is prosperity.

Then came the ROFL moment. You see, my dad, my uncle and the close friend (the very generous uncle who bought the bonsai in my last few blogs if you bother to remember) will have mahjong sessions together during their leisure time. So the Bonsai Uncle (HA HA) suggested a mahjong game at his place after dinner. But coincidentally, my eldest uncle's daughter, who was still in the hospital with her new-born baby, was expecting my uncle's arrival after the dinner as well. Then the Bonsai Uncle, who seems to be anticipating a mahjong session that night no matter what, started his magical words.
"Well you can visit your daughter tomorrow ma. Enjoy our mahjong session tonight, and you can happily go visit her tomorrow right?"

"Come lar long time didn't play already la.........." before ending with BIG smile.

Why? As my uncle already agreed before he even finished his Houdini words.

A VERY VERY SWT moment. Lmao.

The culprit having a drink after a long but persuasive speech. =P

So we went to the Bonsai Uncle's comfy condominium to have a visit after my attempt to get the Clown aka (oops sorry not supposed to reveal the identity =P) to have a drink since I didn't see her for months. As usual, her clowning (not crowning) glory came when she called me, and again, the conversation, was well. Lol.
So I had to rot at my uncle's place while watching the Arsenal vs Birmingham game when Arsenal were losing that time. Yay!

The ongoing match. Sorry, lousy camera effect, but the score was 1-0 Birmingham.

My eldest uncle being frustrated. Not for me. =D
So the night ended with us going home after a long night, before I watched Man United teaching Newcastle a lesson in football by crushing them 5-1.
